The family had outgrown their 1910 house on a hilly site. We created a modest loft-like living room addition with lower-level yoga studio.

The addition is clad with knotty cedar siding and punctuated with oversized corner windows that offer views over the town to the Hudson River.

We are inspired by Condominium One, 1964 by MLTW at The Sea Ranch, on the northern coast of California.

The weathered wood exterior is typical of local sheep barns. The simple massing is similar to Italian hill towns and frames views inward to the courtyard and outward to the Pacific Ocean.
