West Village
New York City
Description
A new entrance stoop, railing and a four-story rear yard addition were part of a comprehensive restoration of this Federal era row house located within the Greenwich Village Historic District. The addition includes nursery, bedroom, study, and laundry room. Original materials were restored and salvaged materials, including vintage wide plank flooring, were sourced. A secret bookcase door was integrated into cabinetry in the study. New pine boards clad the exterior of the addition, corresponding to the scale and texture of the restored clapboards on the original structure.
